Terracotta | Multiplayer

You are welcome to fill in the feedback form.

We noticed the EasyTier project. It provides a simple, secure, and decentralized networking solution for devices in different locations, which is sufficient to support Minecraft multiplayer. With the help of the EasyTier development team, we decided to provide multiplayer services in the launcher again.

To try Terracotta Multiplayer, please follow these steps: Open HMCL, and then you can try Terracotta Multiplayer through the Multiplayer entry at the bottom-left corner of HMCL.

Currently, HMCL, PCL CE, and FCL have implemented the most basic interoperability support. We welcome other launchers to integrate the Scaffolding protocol to achieve more complete interoperability.

In order to make basic multiplayer features available to as many players as possible for free, Terracotta Multiplayer will be based on P2P to a great extent. Put simply, Terracotta Multiplayer will not be as stable as server-relay-based multiplayer solutions on the market, but its cost will be far lower than that of other multiplayer solutions. It is particularly worth noting that: the multiplayer feature will not and cannot replace Minecraft: Java Edition servers. Its primary goal is still to let friends play together, rather than being open to the public for long periods of time.

Finally, I would like to thank all community volunteers who participated in the development and testing of EasyTier and Terracotta Multiplayer, and who provided NAT-traversal servers for EasyTier.

You are welcome to visit the EastTier official website to learn more about this project.
